Pickleball in Laramie, Wyoming
Laramie supports year-round pickleball through four outdoor courts at Undine Park, indoor city play at the Laramie Community Recreation Center, and a strong local association. The recreation center supplies equipment, drop-in court time, beginner clinics, and private instruction. The University of Wyoming Tennis Center adds a second indoor option during the fall and winter.
Undine Park is the first choice for a group that wants free outdoor play. Solo players have a clearer route through the Laramie Pickleball Association or the scheduled indoor sessions, where local players already gather.
Indoor and Outdoor Courts in Laramie
- Undine Park Pickleball Courts, north of 1010 S. 6th Street at 5th Street and Ord Street. The park has four dedicated outdoor courts completed in 2020 and resurfaced through a later city project. Local players use the courts throughout the year when weather permits. Court access is free, and lighting extends the useful playing day.
- Laramie Community Recreation Center, 920 Boulder Drive. The two-court gym accommodates pickleball during scheduled blocks and provides equipment for new players. The adult nonmember daily fee is $6.50; memberships are also available. Current drop-in play runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with competitive and drop-in play on Sundays from noon to 3:00 PM. Call 307-721-5269, option 7, for same-day gym access because other recreation programs share the space. Open the live gym schedule.
- University of Wyoming Indoor Tennis Center, 2717 E. Armory Road. During the eight-month indoor season, pickleball is available daily from 9:00 AM to noon for members, with courts reservable from noon until closing. Adult seasonal membership is $200 and morning pickleball carries a $5 drop-in charge. Call 307-766-6993 for membership and court access.
Beginner Lessons and Skill Development
New players can start with Pickleball 101 at the Laramie Community Recreation Center. The two-hour class is limited to four adults, is taught by a nationally certified instructor, and includes equipment. The 2026 summer series concluded on August 8; the front desk at 307-721-5269, extension 7, handles registration for the next session.
Private instruction remains available through the same certified coach. A one-hour lesson costs $35 for one recreation-center member or $50 for two members. Call 307-721-5261 to schedule. Players who already know the fundamentals can use the Pickleball Improvers class when the next session opens. Register for Laramie recreation classes. For another individual option, use this site's Coaches section.
Open Play, Association Games, and Tournaments
The Recreation Center's recurring indoor schedule provides organized access on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and Sundays from noon to 3:00 PM. The Sunday block combines competitive and drop-in play. The Laramie Pickleball Association connects more than 80 local players and supports play at Undine Park and the indoor venues. Annual membership is $20 from June 1 through May 31. Join the Laramie Pickleball Association.
The 2026 Cowboy PickleBrawl VII runs September 25 through 27 at the University of Wyoming Tennis Center, 2717 E. Armory Road. Friday includes beginner and intermediate clinics, senior doubles, singles, and the rotating-partner Great 8s event. Saturday features men's and women's doubles, and Sunday features mixed doubles, senior singles, and junior divisions. Registration closes September 24. Register for the Cowboy PickleBrawl.
How Visiting Players Can Find a Game
Solo visitors can contact the Laramie Pickleball Association before arriving and join a member session at Undine Park or an indoor venue. This provides an actual player group instead of relying on court availability. The Recreation Center's Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday blocks are also practical drop-in choices, with equipment available and a $6.50 adult nonmember entry fee.
Groups can use the four outdoor courts at Undine Park without a facility fee. From fall through winter, the University of Wyoming Tennis Center provides reliable morning play for seasonal members. Tournament visitors arriving in late September can use the Cowboy PickleBrawl's Great 8s format to enter individually and rotate partners.
